A magnificent Chippendale period Library Bookcase
of breakfront outline with arched pedimented cornice, glazed upper sections enclosed by glazed panel doors (retaining the original glass) above cupboards enclosed by panel doors on plinth base.
Provenance; Ex Library, Shirburn Castle, Earl of Macclesfield Collection. The second Earl (1697 1764) amassed a vast library which was sold by Sotheby's in a series of sales beginning in 2004 with an estimate 10 million, we assume the bookcase was removed at the same time.
