A fine Chippendale period oak Partner's Desk
of exceptionally large size, with original oiled cloth top above an arrangement of eleven drawers to either side with inset alphabetical ivory tablets, the whole supported on bracket feet.
The unusual drawer arrangements can be compared with an Apothecary’s counter supplied by Thomas Chippendale to Sir Rowland Wynn, Bt, on 6th May 1771 at a cost of £19 for Nostell Priory, Yorkshire which has identical gilt brass handles and top mouldings.
