A pair of Gilt Bronze Candlesticks of Neoclassical Form

Probably English, 19th century, after a design by Giovanni Battista Piranesi and similar to the Newdigate candelabrum in the collection of the Ashmolean Museum, the columns with three cast herons above ram’s heads and pendant swags, on triangular bases supported by winged lion’s paw feet.
