An Early 20th Century Irish Donegal Carpet
A stout, roughly squared carpet in ochres and umbers. Field reveals a rustic design of floral palmettes, divers foliation, and a subtle central medallion, and is dominated by a substantial border, in charming trellis designs. Secondary colouring in blue green throughout serves to offset dominant autumnal yellow and orange. In fantastic structural condition, but showing signs of consistent and gentle wear redolent of domestic use.
