A Large 19th Century Oushak Carpet

This substantial carpet depicts an angular, linear floral pattern in greens and blues on a roseate field; a dark blue medallion reveals a red sunburst blaze and is faced by four angular sections in softer green and yellow. Minute detailing abounds and contrasts with an otherwise subtle, spare, design. The carpet is in fine condition generally and age is revealed only through gentle fading and patination.
