A Late 18th Century Architect’s Partner’s Desk, of Exceptional Scale

With ratchetted rectangular Moroccan red leather top above eleven drawers surrounding a central kneehole, the reverse with five frieze drawers above a pair of panelled cupboards, the whole on moulded plinth bases. The highly figured book matched veneers to the drawer fronts, together with the unusual and distinctive handle configuration, combine to make this desk a truly magnificent example of its type.
