An Enormous Scale Late 19th Century Mahal Carpet

Magnificent deep navy field, with palmette design in jades, saffron, ochres and fawn lying within a border displaying miniature foliage and flowers in an intricate, linear style. This oversized carpet is in generally excellent condition and reveals only the appealing patina redolent of a gentle aging process.
