The prowling tiger poised with elegantly at the mouth of a cave, with stitched whiskers, charming and abstractly composed background, eyes fixed forward stitched in relief, with overall muted colour palette. Based on a mezzotint by James Northcote, catalogued at the British Museum (1917,1208.2471), image included for reference.
