An Outstanding Pair of Mahogany Caned Bergères

A Regency period pair of caned bergères with superbly designed and swept arm supports detailed with extremely well carved lion mask heads and lion paw feet with rope twist terminals.
The frames are beautifully drawn with concave top rails and neatly sized seat rails made slightly thinner than usual and reeded to minimize their visual impact without compromising strength.
Raised on fine tapering and reeded legs finished with brass cap casters. This fine pair are generously proportioned and of good colour and charming character. Circa 1810
