A 19th Century Irish Bardiglio Marble Column Chimneypiece

A Regency period Irish chimneypiece carved in Bardiglio marble. A thin and unmoulded shelf is supported by a pair of solid tapering columns on socle bases which terminated with Doric capitals. A plain fielded panel is carved into the frieze and a raised inground frames the opening.
